Dr Savi has always believed that a communication strategy is an essential aspect of any programme or project, agnostic of industry.
He started his work life supporting Universities in the early days of computing, he progressed to being IT Manager for Nokia Data then National Semiconductor corporation for 10 years. His next 10 years was spent working as Head of Project Management at Computacenter & Unisys.
In recent years he's successfully delivered programmes for the NHS, delivering the National Learning Management System, GSK, Investors in People, Microsoft, O2, 3 and Vodafone. In parallel he completed his Post Graduation in Management, an MBA and PhD.
'Pioneering communication in corporate change programmes continues to fascinate me as I believe that audio creates another dimension to understand and communicate creatively the criticality of issues and encourage much needed inclusion.'
In parallel he cites reading in the FT back in 2004 that podcasting would be the 'next big thing'. He believes that just as streaming sites or on-demand entertainment hasn't replaced conventional TV the same is true for Radio and podcasting. One and a half decades later Dr Savi's podcasts are still going strong with an international audience. He's also appeared on a number of BBC radio shows presenting moment of reflection and pause for thought.
'I joined Radio Hillingdon as I really believe that radio is an accessible medium and a way of encouraging an optimistic outlook for our patients. Live broadcasts and documentaries are a different kettle of fish when it comes to scripting and presenting and its great to be given a chance to develop engaging and potentially immersive content at RH.'
Dr Savi started working with Steve and Sarah on the Sunday night request show and said he's so grateful for the professional training given at the station. He now presents the Wednesday night request show and the Smooth Groovers Soul show every Saturday evening from 9-11pm.
