Harefield Bowls
(12 July then 19 July 2026)

We are a mixed bowling club whose aim is to enjoy the game of bowls in a warm, friendly and informal atmosphere.
The Club has weekly organised roll ups, as well as internal competitions, which are strongly supported.
As a mixed club we take part in both the Three Counties and The Chiltern & Thames leagues. In addition to this there is a very full, friendly weekday and weekend fixture list.

Many of our players compete in Bowls England National, Middlesex, Harrow, Hillingdon and many more external competitions.
The social side is also well supported with B.B.Qs, bowls drives and other fun days during the summer season. In winter we arrange indoor matches plus Christmas celebrations, quiz nights, bingo etc.

We currently have around 60 members and we are always looking to welcome new members whether you are a beginner or more experienced.
Don’t think that bowls is just a game for the older generation. Bowls has something to offer to everyone and is a great opportunity to meet new people of all ages. It can be a highly skilful and competitive sport.

Just joining a club can open the doors to county, national and even international competition! Having said that, you may prefer just to take part in the local leagues or even just join as a social, non-bowling member.

Litter Blitz at Little Britain
(21 July 2026)

Join us for another day at Litter Britain Lake, where we will be continuing our work cleaning up the area for wildlife and people.

We will be teaming up with volunteers from Hillingdon Council, who will be focusing on invasive species clearance in the river. Our volunteer group will be supporting activities from the banks and surrounding areas only (no in-river work).

We need volunteers to join our team to tackle the following tasks:
-litter picking around the lake and the surrounding footpaths.
-If time allows, we will make our way to tackle parts of the Slough Arm.
-Spray paint removal
-Supporting the other volunteer team by helping to remove floating pennywort from the river bank

Times 10:00-13:00
Meeting Location: Little Britain Lake, by the picnic area.
Parking: Parking at Little Britain Lake Old Mill Lane

✅ What to bring: Sturdy footwear, weather-appropriate clothing, gloves if you have them. Make sure to bring lunch and drink!
✅ Why join? Make a real difference for local wildlife, enjoy the outdoors, and meet like-minded people!

Help us refresh and improve this lovely site for the benefit of people and wildlife.

This event is part of the Landscape Recovery Initiative, aiming to improve the landscape quality of the Colne Valley Regional Park and strengthen its natural habitats.

About Little Britain Lake:
One of the Colne Valley Parks gems, a scenic lake bordered by the Rivers Colne and Frays—perfect for walking, fishing, and picnicking. Its name first appeared on a map in 1819, possibly inspired by the Britannic shape of the surrounding land. The lake itself was created after gravel extraction in the early 1930s.
